Home-made Indian Style Macaroni
While I have had this at different places, whenever I think of Macaroni, my mind wanders off to mom’s recipe. So, this one is straight from my mom’s kitchen, prepared using desi ingredients in desi style along with loads of veggies.
As the name suggests, this one is for all the folks who want either their breakfast or the evening/ mid-night snack to be an indulging affair! As usual, very simple with easily available ingredients that you can get delivered at home.
Poha – Punjabi Style
For me it was always Poha until I got to know the difference between Indori Poha and Punjabi Poha. The one we usually get at the street side topped with raw veggies and namkeen is the Indori version apparently. The one we are going to make now is the Punjabi one. Irrespective of the name, Poha is one of the universal break-fast in India. I am yet to find someone who doesn’t like it, if prepared well.
I got introduced to this snack in Pune. It turned out be a different but surely interesting way of having bread for breakfast. A very straight forward recipe with minimal requirement of any fancy ingredient.
Sabudana (sago) khichdi
he go to meal in our family for any sort of fasting. While fasting and food don’t usually go together, this makes for a really awesome breakfast/ snack on any other day as well. It do adds variety to your weekly cooking menu as well.
Bored of the usual Indian style omelets? Well, was so did I until I came across this equally easy and simple to make, Spanish omelet recipe. A product of me venturing online and looking for new recipes to try, I personally loved the output in the very first try along with the taste. Not to mention it is an added variety in which you can have your regular eggs.
During this lockdown if you managed to hoard onto some snacks like Kurkure, namkeen, etc. then you are in luck with this one! Don’t worry if you didn’t, it works without these as well. This has had been one of the go to snacks for a friends get-together. Simple to make with loads of protein and perfect for satisfying an Indian snack craving!

Toasted Vegetable Sandwich
My crunchy take on the regular vegetable sandwich. Good part is that you can customize it with any fillings you want. Perfect for a quick and filling breakfast. Disclaimer: You do need a bread toaster for this.
This is one of the classics that took me a long time to master. To the extent that I had to borrow the recipe from my wife (hope she is not reading this)! If you get it right, it’s makes for a really simple and tasty breakfast.
